How much does Anchor cost?
Anchor has three tiers, priced by the size of your gym: Starter at $199/mo ($165 billed annually) for gyms under 300 members, Pro at $449/mo ($374 annually) for 300 to 800, and Chain at $799/mo ($665 annually) for 800 and up. On top of the subscription you pay processing: 3.4% + 30¢ on card and 1.25% + 30¢ capped at $9 on bank debit — the same rate on all three tiers, not a rate that improves as you spend more with us. Those are all-in numbers, not a platform fee added to a processor fee. There is no setup fee, no contract and no charge for migration on any tier.
Does the processing rate change between tiers?
No. Card is 3.4% + 30¢ and bank debit is 1.25% + 30¢ capped at $9 on Starter, Pro and Chain alike. This is worth stating plainly because the opposite is normal in this category: platforms commonly reserve the better rate for their more expensive plans, which means the smallest gym on the cheapest plan pays the most on every transaction it takes — exactly backwards. Your subscription buys product here. It does not buy a discount on your own money.
What is actually inside the processing rate?
All of it. Card fees, bank debit, failed-payment retries and recovery, payouts, dispute handling, and the billing engine that runs them. No gateway fee, no platform surcharge, no monthly minimum, and no second invoice from a processor. Money still moves through Stripe Connect into your own connected account, so the merchant relationship and the card tokens are yours and leave with you.
How do I pay less in processing?
Move members onto bank debit. It is 1.25% + 30¢ capped at $9 against 3.4% + 30¢ on card, so on a $60 membership that is roughly $1.05 instead of $2.34 — cut your fee line by more than half on every member who switches. Anchor asks for bank debit first at sign-up and members can change it themselves from the app at any time. Because the rate is the same on every tier, this is the only real lever on your processing cost, and the calculator on this page shows you what it is worth on your own numbers.
Do you charge per member?
No. Tiers are sized by roster — Starter under 300 members, Pro from 300 to 800, Chain above that — so you move up when you cross a band rather than paying for each member you sign. Inside a band your bill does not move at all, and nothing is throttled as you fill the tier up: every report, automation and feature on your plan works the same at 40 members as at 299. Staff accounts are unlimited on all three tiers. Locations follow the tiers: one on Starter, two on Pro, unlimited on Chain.
Is there a free plan?
No. A free plan in this category is always paid for somewhere else — usually in a processing rate that costs a 300-member gym far more per month than a subscription ever would. We would rather charge a fair subscription, publish a fair rate, and let you check the arithmetic. If you want to try Anchor without risk, the 60-day money-back guarantee is the honest version of a free tier: if it does not work for your gym, you do not pay.
Does Anchor include AI workout programming and meal planning?
Yes, on every tier including Starter. Anchor generates a full training block from a member’s goal, experience, days a week and your gym’s actual equipment list, and a meal plan to a calorie and macro target around their allergies and preferences. Everything the AI writes is editable: coaches can rewrite sets, reps, loads, tempo and meals, build their own program and meal-plan templates, and assign them to one member, a group or the whole gym. Your gym can also write its own custom meal plans and include them or sell them. Members can ignore all of it and log their own workouts and meals by hand. In-app coach messaging and selling programming as its own paid plan start at Pro; delivering it inside your own branded app is Chain.
Does Anchor include childcare or a kids club?
Yes, in full, on the Chain tier. Children are held as their own records so they never land in your member count, retention reports or billing. You can put a note on any child who needs one — allergies, medication, a nap time, anything a parent tells you — and it surfaces on the desk screen every time that child is checked in. The room has a hard capacity cap that refuses an over-limit check-in rather than warning about it, sessions have a named supervisor, and parents see their own children in the member app. Kids Club is a Chain feature, alongside your own branded app and the employment-document vault.
Can Anchor hold my staff’s tax documents?
Yes, on the Chain tier. Employment documents and management is a Chain feature: you file W-2s, 1099s, state withholding forms, W-4s, I-9s, contracts and handbooks against a staff member, and they see and download their own from their account. Certifications and background checks carry an expiry date and surface in an expiring-soon queue before they lapse. Every view and download is recorded with who, when and from where, on an append-only trail with no delete path. Reading somebody else’s tax documents needs its own permission, which a manager does not hold by default. Shift scheduling, timesheets and payroll-ready export are separate, and start at Pro.
Do I have to buy new equipment to switch to Anchor?
No. Anchor does not sell hardware and there is no equipment line on your invoice. It integrates with what you already run — card and fob readers, RFID and barcode scanners, the tablet on your front desk, your turnstiles and your existing door controllers. We set that integration up with you during migration at no charge. If a reader works today, it keeps working; you are changing the software behind the door, not the door.
How does Anchor recover failed and past-due payments?
Every tier gets the retry schedule, the past-due queue and a one-tap card-update link that needs no login. From Pro, Recovery Automation takes over the chasing: it texts the member, emails them, and then places an actual AI voice call that talks them through updating the card and sends the link while they are still on the phone. The ladder escalates on its own and stops the instant the payment clears, and it respects quiet hours, call caps and opt-outs. You get the recovery rate, the recovered value and the involuntary-churn number reported back, so you can see what it is worth rather than take our word for it.
Can Anchor run my email and text follow-up?
Yes. The automation builder reads as sentences rather than trigger syntax — trigger, wait, condition, send — so whoever runs your front desk can switch a follow-up on without a consultant or a training week. Ready-made recipes cover the common ones: new lead gets a text in sixty seconds, trial ending in three days, no check-in for fourteen days, birthdays, class reminders, milestones. Email automations and the builder itself are on every tier; SMS, two-way texting, branching on whether the member replied or booked, the lead pipeline and per-automation reporting start at Pro. There is no setup fee and no onboarding package to buy.
Is Anchor a payroll provider?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Anchor does not calculate withholding, file with the IRS or a state, or move money to your staff — that is a licensed payroll processor’s job and you should keep yours. What Anchor does is everything on either side of it: shift scheduling, clock in and out, timesheets with overtime flags, effective-dated pay rates, labour cost against revenue, a payroll-ready CSV export for whoever does run your payroll, and the document vault where the forms that come back live afterwards.
What does migration cost, and how long does it take?
Nothing, on every tier — members, plans, billing schedules and full payment history. We do it with you on-site and the switch is done within the same day. Your billing history comes across with the rest, which is why cohort retention, churn and lifetime numbers are populated on day one instead of month six. Chain adds Brand-Match Migration: your site and app rebuilt to your own look, within the same day.
Is there a contract, and can I get my data out?
No contract on any tier — Anchor is month-to-month and you can leave whenever you like. A full export of everything is one click, at any time, with no exit fee and no retention call required. Your subscription and your rate are locked for as long as you stay, in writing, and there is a 60-day money-back guarantee: if the numbers do not work, you do not pay.
Which tier should I choose?
Start from your roster, because that is what the bands are drawn on. We recommend Pro for most gyms in the 300 to 800 band it covers. It adds the lead pipeline, SMS and two-way texting, Recovery Automation with the AI voice calls, door access, staff scheduling with payroll-ready hours, a second location, and the retention reporting — MRR movement, the three-way churn split, cohort retention and the nightly churn-risk radar. Gyms under 300 members start on Starter and get the whole billing engine, the member app, AI programming and the email automation builder with it. Multi-location operators — and anyone who wants their own branded app, Kids Club childcare or the employment-document vault — go to Chain.
